چکیده

Abstract In recent years the quest for a circular economy approach and upcycling of secondary raw materials have been pushed in global political agenda. Increased interest has taken by recovery from sludges, brines, contaminated waters other media, all included larger umbrella identified as “low-grade” mineralisation. Contaminated soils an interesting role this process, various methodologies developed using chemical, bacteriological pyrometallurgical cleaning procedures. However, these procedures involve movement high volume disruption industrial landscape; furthermore, they often require use hazardous solvents energy processes. This work proposes to identify less impactful methods aimed at metals mining areas while preserving landscape avoiding environmental impacts such increase CO 2 transport hazard through solvents, takes particular importance heritage status. particular, focuses on Agrostis tenuis , autochthonous species UK, “mining tool” removal lead. The selection plant is due its visually non-invasive nature, already present areas, it doesn’t grow above 10/15 cm also grows very fast can be easily harvested with existing agricultural equipment. experiments results presented paper indicate: (1) Tenuis shows ability adjust contamination accumulation capacity; (2) metal collected fully transposed aerial part stable compound form consequently further processed.

assessment of the efficiency of s.p.g.c refineries using network dea

data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...

Arsenic hyperaccumulation in gametophytes of Pteris vittata. A new model system for analysis of arsenic hyperaccumulation.

The sporophyte of the fern Pteris vittata is known to hyperaccumulate arsenic (As) in its fronds to >1% of its dry weight. Hyperaccumulation of As by plants has been identified as a valuable trait for the development of a practical phytoremediation processes for removal of this potentially toxic trace element from the environment. However, because the sporophyte of P. vittata is a slow growing ...

Arsenic Hyperaccumulation Strategies: An Overview

Arsenic (As) pollution, which is on the increase around the world, poses a growing threat to the environment. Phytoremediation, an important green technology, uses different strategies, including As uptake, transport, translocation, and detoxification, to remediate this metalloid. Arsenic hyperaccumulator plants have developed various strategies to accumulate and tolerate high concentrations of...

Hyperaccumulation of Pb, Zn and Cd in herbaceous grown on lead-zinc mining area in Yunnan, China.

A field survey of herbaceous growing on lead-zinc mining area in Yunnan, China were conducted to identify species accumulating exceptionally large concentrations of Pb, Zn and Cd in shoots. In total, 220 plant samples of 129 species of 50 families and 220 soil samples in which the plants were growing were collected. According to accumulation concentration in plant shoots and the concentration t...
